Encore Films is a leading film distribution and production company based in Singapore. Founded in 2003, we have distributed hundreds of titles, averaging 15 releases annually. We are also the exclusive distributor of Studio Ghibli’s beloved classics,
including MY NEIGHBOUR TOTORO 《龙猫》,
PONYO 《悬崖上的金鱼姬》, and THE WIND RISES 《起风了》, as well as Makoto Shinkai’s WEATHERING WITH YOU 《天气之子》 and SUZUME 《铃芽之旅》

Commitment To Creating Original And Refreshing Content
At Encore Films, we are committed to creating original and refreshing content that resonates with both local and global audiences.
In 2013, we expanded into film production with our first feature, YOUNG & FABULOUS 《最佳伙扮》, co-directed and produced by our founder. Released in May 2016, the film earned rave audience reviews and achieved an outstanding S$1.31 million at the Singapore box office, ranking among the top ten Asian movies of the year. It was subsequently released in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
Our Achievements

All-Time Box Office Hits
Encore Films has delivered several all-time box office successes — the most remarkable being Ne Zha 2 《哪吒之魔童闹海》, which grossed over US$20 million across Southeast Asia and set new records in Singapore, Malaysia, and Cambodia.
The DEATH NOTE movie series 《死亡笔记》 also achieved phenomenal success, grossing over S$5.28 million in Singapore and holding the title of the #1 Japanese movie blockbuster series for more than 11 years.
Other notable box office hits include THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM 《功夫之王》, DRAGON BLADE 《天将雄狮》, and COLD WAR 1 & 2 《寒战 1 & 2》.
The First-Ever Local Film Made Up of A Team of International Talents
Our second movie, FAT HOPE 《超磅名模》 is currently in post-production. This is the first-ever local film made up of a team of international talents & production crew including special effects prosthetics make-up by Academy award winning team, Odd Studio; award-winning Taiwanese art director & music scoring.

We aim for this to be a definitive film that can brighten up screens and hearts as well as refresh both local and global perceptions towards Singaporean films.

Our Founder
Joyce started her career in Mediacorp TV Singapore as a Network Programming & Promotions Executive for Channel 8 in 2001. Since young, she has been a TV addict and movie buff. Her strong passion, positive attitude and effective negotiation skills helped her to excel in her career.

Challenges
In 2003, she decided to take on new challenges and left Mediacorp to set up her own movie distribution company, Encore Films Pte Ltd. With her experience in content acquisition and distribution, coupled with her strong network in the industry and flair for knowing audience needs, she achieved resounding success with movie distribution in Singapore. Over the past 14 years, she has developed an extensive distribution network for theatrical, TV, VOD and video platforms across Asia territories including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and Vietnam.
Drawing from our extensive distribution experience, we understand the viewing needs of audiences in different countries, which enables us to discern content that can appeal to a global market. Encore Films strives to create distinctive Singapore content and bring them to audiences worldwide.
