Synopsis

The Curse of Sadako’s Video

At a university, Professor Morishige (Masahiro Komoto甲本雅裕) debunks some popular Japanese urban legends, save for one—Sadako and the cursed video. Yuri Kurahashi (Mizuki Yamamoto山本美月) attends the lecture with her good friend Natsumi (Aimi Satsukawa佐津川愛美), but sleeps through most of it. Later Natsumi asks her to duplicate a VHS video of her parents’ wedding into a DVD, so she could give it to them as a gift during their upcoming wedding anniversary. The two girls buy an old videotape player from a secondhand goods shop, and find a strange, unmarked video already in the player.

Out of curiosity, Yuri plays the video, and an eerie visual appears on the television. Distracted by her phone pinging, Yuri unintentionally looks away from the television, but Natsumi is unable to tear her eyes away from the screen. Trembling after the video ends, a frantic Natsumi tells Yuri that whatever is in the player may possibly be the legendary cursed video. After saying this, Natsumi receives a silent phone call from an unknown caller……

The next day, Yuri and Natsumi seek verification from the owners of the secondhand goods shop, and confirm the videotape as Sadako’s cursed video. They approach Professor Morishige, a self-professed expert on Sadako and the cursed video, for help and he introduces them to a respectable medium. Tragedy strikes during the exorcism and a dejected Yuri also falls under Sadako’s curse. At this moment, another medium Keizo Tokiwa (Masanobu Ando安藤政信), whom the medium has pre-empted of the circumstances, appears with his partner, a young blind girl by the name of Tamao (Mai Kikuchi菊地麻衣) who also possesses great psychic powers.

The Curse of the Saeki House

After moving to a new town, high school student Suzuka Takagi (Tina Tamashiro玉城Tina) is tormented by an unaccountable anxiety. She is inexplicably drawn towards the abandoned house opposite her family’s new home, although deep down she knows it is dangerous. She finds out from her classmates soon after about the horrible murder that occurred within the Saeki household, who lived in that house many years ago. The husband stabbed his wife to death and drowned his young son. After that incident, people who inhabited or visited the house all died mysteriously, and the story of the cursed house started spreading in the community.

The next day, news circulated that four elementary school students went missing all of a sudden. Suzuka remembers seeing the four boys outside the cursed house the previous evening. She begins to have weird hallucinations where she feels that someone or something is beckoning to her from inside the Saeki house

Later that night, Suzuka looks out from her window and sees one of the missing children in the house. Unable to resist the urge, she rushes across to the house. Suzuka’s parents, who were following her, hear her screams and dash into the house. The three of them are now trapped on both sides by the house’s accursed spirits Kayako and Toshio……

The Final Battle of Curses

To expel the curses on both Yuri and Suzuka, Keizo decides to execute his secret plan—to let both Sadako and Kayako fight it out over their ‘preys’, so they will kill each other in the process. To do so, Yuri must venture into the cursed house and Suzuka must watch the cursed video inside that house. What is going to happen is beyond imagination……
