An Affair and Love, there is no answer. <April Snow> is a story about a man and a woman who face their spouses' accident and betrayal together and lose the balance on their lives. The man and the woman meet for the first time in an empty hallway in front of an operating room. As the two rush in upon hearing of their spouses' sccident, they realise that the man's wife and the woman's husband had an affair together. They also realise that they share the same sadness. The two get lost in despair of confusion and anger but they unexpectedly fall in love and feel more heartache and pain.

As such, <April Snow> shows the ironic side to love through a circumstance that can happen to anyone and another affair arising within the situation. Though they resented and were furious at their spouses, it is after they have fallen into the exact same situation that they realise how hard it must have been for them and forgive them. Then, they stride toward yet another ending. <April Snow> shows a different side to the subject of extramarital affairs from other films with a more matured love story.

Director Hur Jin Ho captures the lyricism of affairs. In his former films, he told the story through those who tried to capture the moments of the past through "photographs" and "sounds". In <April Snow>, director Hur tells the love story through two people in a "special situation" of their spouses' accidents and affair. Here, love is something that starts in a time of despair when it seems utterly inconceivable. Thus, <April Snow is a different kind of love story, a story about married people in a complex situation with various emotions of betrayal, anger, fury, longing, jealously, desire... The way the characters must be seen is different. Thus the camera goes in closer at the characters to catch their outbursts of emotions and move along with them. The explosion of emotions, without losing the unique lyricism to the film, will surely bring about unfamiliar and new excitements. The common subject of "affairs" and "love" will go through the special filter of "the Hur Jin Ho style melodrama" and be reborn anew.
